United Nations Forces in Cyprus

The United Nation's Forces in Cyprus or UNFICYP medal is awarded to individuals who have served a minimum of 90 days duty in Cyprus.

The obverse of this bronze medal has a globe emblem surrounded by a wreath with the letters "UN" at the top. On the reverse it has the words "IN THE SERVICE OF PEACE."

The medal ribbon is 1.44" and had 3 equal bars, one of white in the centre and the two of UN blue at either end. The bars are separated by thin dark blue bars that represent the Mediterranean Sea. Those personnel who complete subsequent tours wear a silver numeral attached to the ribbon.

The UNFICYP medal was introduced in 1964 for service in Cyprus.
