UNAVEM Medal

The United Nations Angola Verification Medal has been issued for 3 operations. The dates for the operations were as follows:

Mission 1 - 1989 - 1991

Mission 2 - 1991 - 1995

Mission 3 - 1995 -

The obverse of this bronze medal has a globe emblem surrounded by a wreath with the letters "UN" at the top. On the reverse it has the words "IN THE SERVICE OF PEACE."

The medal ribbon is a pale blue ribbon, with yellow edges and seperated by narrow stripes of red, white and black.
