General Service Medal 1918

The General Service Medal 1918-62 was awarded to military personnel for numerous campaigns that have fallen short of full scale war.

There have been 6 obverses of the General Service Medal 1918-62 showing the various effigies of the reigning monarch of the time, ranging from King George V for the first issue through to Queen Elizabeth II for the last.

The ribbon is purple with a central green stripe and 32mm in width.

The reverse shows the winged figure of Victory with a trident in the left hand, placing a wreath on the emblem of the Army and the Royal Air Force.
