General Service Medal 1918-62 with Canal Zone Clasp

The qualification period for the Suez Canal Zone clasp was for 30 days or more continuous service in the Suez Cana Zone during the period 16 October 1951 to 19 October 1954.

Information on the issue of this clasp was released on 23 October 2003 and is only the third medal to be issued retrospectively.

If service was curtailed due to death, wounding or disability attributed to the campaign, then that was deemed sufficient for the award.

The first issue of this clasp was to Warrant Class 2, M Atkinson from the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.
